Every couple of years Karmalicity gets an upgrade, and this is the biggest yet. It’s been 8 months of development, building Karmalicity from the ground up using more modern frameworks and technologies. After more than 8 years, Karmalicity needed more than just a facelift, and the new version will be faster and more intuitive.
Not everything is changing - many things will be in the same or similar places, but with better User Interface elements to make things easier to interact with. Some things will get combined into the same page (for example, the “Dashboard” will now be where you earn points as well as manage your Listings). Pro users will interact on the Dashboard as well, rather than having two locations where IMDb Views appear, and the Pro extension will work on the Dashboard.
We will also be adding The Exchange - Premium and Pro members can access the exchange in order to do Instagram Follows/Re-Follows as well as View-for-View IMDb views. This system exists outside of the normal Point System, and will facilitate one-for-one exchanges for Instagram and IMDb.
YouTube Subscriptions will disappear at the time this launches - Google and YouTube have cracked down a lot on Subscriptions that don’t appear to be real, and the old system didn’t do a good job of making those Subscriptions more authentic. In a later phase, Subscriptions will come back as part of a “Progression” for YouTube - something like Viewing two videos from the same channel, Liking at least one of them, and then Subscribing. This progression is closer to what would happen in a normal environment and is likely to work better for Channel owners.
The update began today at 10pm, and will last until tomorrow morning at around 2am. Not only the front-facing site but also the server side code and databases have all been updated, so there’s a lot of stuff to move around. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
